The costumes are created to represent a certain character

July 31, 2010

I visit the Tokyo Game Show, held despite its name in neighboring Chiba. Despite my ambivalence at first it was a good time. I had no intention of going originally, but after recieving a number of requests (actually demands) from viewers I felt I had to go. Apologies for the usual audio problems which were worse since I was filming basically inside a giant pinpall machine. I promise I’ll get a proper mic one of these days when the budget allows. The costumes are created to represent a certain character, or an concept. There are various various sources from which cosplayers draw their ideas for characters to portray. Inside the recent many years, while using rise of popularity of J-Pop, and J-Rock, the stars of these musical genres are frequently the inspiration for cosplayers. J-Pop is an abbreviation for Japanese pop music. The term came to existence inside 1980s, and had because became frequent for all kinds of well-liked music in Japan. Over the many years, the stars of J-Pop, and J-Rock have built a certain image. This image included unique haircuts, distinct way of wearing make up, and particular wardrobe. As with several points inside modern Japanese tradition, this model of J-Rockers was inspired by the well-known Manga and Anime series and characters. That indicates lots of spiky hair and colorful wardrobe.dicount prom dresses

All About Maternity Wedding Dresses

June 22, 2010

In the olden days, visibly pregnant women walking down the aisle were subjects of scorn. You were either married in quick civil ceremonies or walked down the aisle when you were barely showing in the middle. Either way, you were often not allowed to choose from among wedding dresses, a privilege and a joy for most brides.

Fortunately, modern norms have made it possible to walk down the aisle as gloriously pregnant as you can be! Your pregnancy may even be a source of inspiration for other couples. So don”t wear that ugly, matronly, silly smock if you don”t want to, especially not with specially-designed maternity wedding dresses to choose from.

Where to Look

You have a wealth of options when it comes to your maternity wedding dress. First, you can browse through department stores with their formal maternity dresses in various colors. Yes, you can also wear colored dresses on your wedding day, if you want to.

Second, look through designer boutiques that offer maternity wedding dresses(http://www.sourcinggate.com/column-evening-dress-sweetheart-kneelength-with-removable-skirt-p-7247.html). You are assured that these dresses were specially designed to flatter the pregnant figure, provide utmost comfort, and even be adjustable based on your pregnancy state. You might have to pay a little bit more but it will be worth it.

Third, you can look through catalogs and then have your favorite seamstress sew your dream dress. Just make sure to make allowances especially when your wedding will still be in a few months” time.

Fourth, you must also look through online sites. You are sure to find an online store that sells a wide variety of maternity wedding dresses, with excellent customer services, to boot. Again, just make sure to provide for allowances.

When to Look

Well, now is the best time! Even when your belly is constantly growing, you must never wait until the last minute to choose your wedding dress(http://www.sourcinggate.com/ball-gown-sweetheart-floorlength-taffeta-evening-dress-p-7248.html) simply because you might just end up with the wrong one.

Let’’s say you are three months along and your wedding day is on your sixth month. Well, you should shop now for the right wedding dress although you have to wait till at least 2 weeks before the wedding day to have your actual fitting. This way, the perfect dress will fit perfectly!

How to Choose

It must be emphasized that muumuus are not the one and only option for the modern bride who just happens to be pregnant. You can even appear sexy and/or cute despite your watermelon of a belly! Just look at Mary Shelton’’s cleavage-baring dress on the red carpet of a movie premier to get some inspiration.

Just choose the cut and color that best flatter your skin tone, hair color and belly bump. You have a wealth of choices in maternity wedding dresses, too – strapless, A-line, empire waist, halter and spaghetti strap, to name a few.

One word of caution, though. It is not and will never be sexy to show off your belly in a cut-out dress! It’’s tacky, trashy and tricky, to say the least. Cover your belly, bare your other assets, say, your great shoulder line.
sourcinggate has an affordable collection of dresses that are ideal for a wide range of tastes. This company offers mix-and-match options as well and can easily coordinate with their lines of bridal gowns.

Plus Sized Wedding Dresses Tips for the Right Fit

June 22, 2010

Plus sized brides have at their fingertips vast selections of stylish plus size wedding dresses so there is no need to blush when walking into a bridal shop. Whether you are a size 12 or 32, there is a perfect wedding dress for you. So why worry?

Your Perfect Style

Full figured? You can still slip into a gorgeous bridal dress. You can have a designer label with the latest style, something unheard of decades ago. However, before you eagerly plunge into the task of shopping for your wedding dress, it helps to know some tricks to get the perfect fit when you are swamped with lovely plus size wedding dresses in various heavenly fabrics.

Your Body Shape

The same shopping rules for regular sized bridal dresses(http://www.sourcinggate.com/gorgeous-ball-gown-strapless-neckline-floorlength-evening-dress-p-7250.html) apply to plus size wedding dresses. Before you even think about the design of your dream wedding gown, assess your body shape. The basic shapes are the pear, inverted triangle, rectangle, hourglass, and apple.

If you have pear shape, your upper body is narrower than your hips; if it is an inverted triangle, your upper body is wider than your hips; if it is rectangular in shape, your hips and upper body have the same width while an apple figure shows a wider upper body with inches on the waist. The hourglass figure shows equal width proportion of torso and hips.

Avoid tea-length plus size wedding dresses and veer away from ball-gown skirts; these don”t flatter a full-figure. You can stay safe with an A-line shape long gown that will soften your curves from bust to hips. A simple A-line bridal gown or one with a vertical pattern or an empire waist with a flowing skirt hides full hips and the tummy. If you opt for a sleeveless gown, drape your shoulders with an elegant wrap if you don”t the looks of your arms but you want a sleeveless gown.

Choice of Fabric

Choose fabrics that flow away from the body. Fabrics In this category are silk and sateen. Check how the dress drops and try it on to see how it looks on your body. You should have a slimmer silhouette with the recommended cut and fabric and one type of gown fabric gives a seamless soft look.

Bring Out the Best in You

Emphasize your best features. Creamy shoulders, full bust, small waist, or shapely hips. The bridal specialist will likely recommend a bustier and a corset to bring on the curves but will make sure you have the dress you will love to wear on your wedding day. Fear not, the bridal specialist understands your needs and will make sure you are comfortable in your wedding dress(
http://www.sourcinggate.com/captivating-mermaid-sweetheart-floorlength-satin-evening-dress-p-7251.html).

Order Ahead of Time

Plus size wedding dresses are available to order on line. Most online bridal salons have size charts to help you find your size. Measure your hips, waist, arms, and bust with a tape measure because sizes vary according to the manufacturer. A size 12 may be 11 to another manufacturer; to be on the safe side, let a professional tailor measure you.

With plus size wedding dresses(http://www.sourcinggate.com/graceful-aline-asymmetrical-neckline-floor-length-evening-dress-p-7256.html) don”t get a wedding gown that’’s a size smaller because you”re going to starve yourself months onto your wedding day. Remember that a comfortable fit makes a stylish fit.

The Beauty of Shopping for Plus Size Wedding Dresses

June 22, 2010

Every woman dreams of being a bride someday. For every little girl, making this dream a reality is perhaps the most meaningful of all. This is the reason why even at a young age, girls already plan their weddings – designs of bridesmaid dresses, wedding gowns and wedding bouquets in Toronto or elsewhere, among others.

Also, bride-to-be’’s wish that they would have the perfect, hourglass-y figure should this day happen. Above all, women wish that they will have the 36-24-36 vital statistics. That way, they can get the perfect wedding gown – just what’’s needed to make this already-perfect day more memorable.

But that is not always the case. Even then, this should not be reason enough to be wistful. This is, after all, still the most important day of your life. Good thing that today, there are already hundreds of bridal shops and boutiques that specialize in the designing of plus size wedding dresses(http://www.sourcinggate.com/aline-strapless-sweetheart-neckline-floor-length-evening-dress-p-7253.html). Yes ladies, society has opened up and is now welcoming the idea that sexy women need not be skinny. Society has now acknowledged that voluptuous women are also beautiful – and it is because of this notion that that plus size wedding dresses are becoming more and more popular.

If you happen to be one of those women who will need plus size wedding dresses, don”t fret. There are several choices for you out there. Surely, you will never run out of bridal boutiques that will carry this line.

So why exactly are plus size wedding dresses (http://www.sourcinggate.com/ball-gown-strapless-floorlength-satin-evening-dress-p-7254.html)becoming more and more popular? Well…

First, it is because of the preference of men. Women, on a large part, want to be desired by men. Interestingly, statistics suggest that 80% of men prefer voluptuous women. They do not like the skinny, anorexic-looking supermodels who have been donning the catwalks and filling the pages of every glossy magazine there is.

As such, it is no wonder that more and more women are looking for plus size wedding dresses – a size 14 is said to be the average size for a 5”4″ American woman. Of course, you know that a size 14 is plus size. Interestingly enough, a size 14 is said to be sex icon Marilyn Monroe’’s size. Now, isn”t that reason enough to be thankful that you”ll be browsing for plus size wedding dresses?

Second, plus size wedding dresses – and any other dress for that matter – is about confidence. It is not an easy thing to carry a plus size dress. Therefore, those who are able to do this are certainly not anyone’’s ordinary girl. Those who are able to carry plus size wedding dresses are those who are confident about themselves. It takes grace and poise to carry oversized dresses despite one’’s bulk.

That being said, it is clear then that if you are on your way to shopping for plus size wedding dresses, then you are one hell of a voluptuous and confident woman. This is something to be proud of. Consequently, this is the essence and the beauty of shopping for plus size wedding dresses!

Vera Wang Wedding Dresses

June 18, 2010

First, consider what your wedding designs and what colors are going to be included in your wedding. In 1990, she opened up her own design salon in New York, and this is where her trademark wedding gowns started taking off. Some of the luminaries who have been married in Vera Wang wedding dresses include Jessica Simpson, Mariah Carey, Victoria Beckham, Sharon Stone, and Sarah Michelle Gellar. Take some time and consider what these wedding dresses have to offer you and make sure that you look into how you can use them to get the effect that you are after. Vera Wang herself was a senior fashion editor at Vogue magazine for 16 years before leaving to join Ralph Lauren as a design director. Take some time and consider what you’re wedding is like and what kind of dress is best going to suit it. Take some time and consider what your options are and what you can do to get the results that you are after; this might well be the perfect designer for you! This can very much inform your choice and it can tell you whether the Vera Wang wedding dresses are for you.

If you are a fan of Sex and the City, Carrie Bradshaw wore a Wedding Dress (http://www.sourcinggate.com/ball-gown-sweetheart-floorlength-taffeta-evening-dress-p-7248.html)by Vera Wang in her Vogue photo shoot. Are you in a place where you love the idea of being at the peak of fashion for your wedding dress? The truth of the matter is that these dresses are much more appropriate when you are looking at certain kind of wedding. Of course, you should always take a look and see what wedding dresses are going to be appropriate for you. If so, you will find that you need to look into the Vera Wang wedding dresses. There are many celebrities that have enjoyed her wedding gowns. With all of this acclaim behind the brand, it makes sense why so many people would enjoy these dresses, but are they right for you?

This can have a great deal to do with how you are going to look for your wedding and what your options might be. Similarly, she has also brought her designs to the ice skating rink and designed costumes for figure skaters Nancy Kerrigan and Michelle Kwan. These dresses tend more towards the modern than the traditional, and some of the dresses have an asymmetry that would be difficult to combine with a more traditional wedding. Are Vera Wang wedding dresses for, and are they something that you are interested in? In the first place, consider what the history of the house itself is like. Are you someone who feels as though the dress you wear should be beautiful, flattering, and wonderfully edgy on top of it? Consider how you can move forward and what your options are going to be when you are thinking about moving forward with your wedding. Vera Wang Wedding Dresses (http://www.sourcinggate.com/column-evening-dress-sweetheart-kneelength-with-removable-skirt-p-7247.html)are simply amazing and whether you want something that is breathtakingly simple but very well cut, or you want a slightly busier gown that has a lot of eye-catching detail, this might be the fashion house that you go to.

All about Wedding Dresses

June 18, 2010

You may be really surprised at the high costs of wedding dresses these days. The wedding dresses (http://www.sourcinggate.com/gorgeous-ball-gown-strapless-neckline-floorlength-evening-dress-p-7250.html)in the outlet stores are brand new and have never been worn they may not be the styles of the current year. You also have to inquire about the return policy of the site to make sure that you can return it for a full refund if you don’t like the dress when you do receive it. You may find a dress that was bought and never worn and is now being sold at a really low price just to get it out of the closet.

It makes it easier to shop when you don’t have a particular style of dress in mind because then you have numerous options in finding one that will suit your taste and style. Spending a lot of money on a dress that you will wear once doesn’t make a lot of sense when you are trying to save money on your wedding. She will also be much honored that you like the dress she wore enough to want it for your wedding. Many of the brand name stores also have outlet locations where you can find a Unique Wedding Dresses (http://www.sourcinggate.com/captivating-mermaid-sweetheart-floorlength-satin-evening-dress-p-7251.html)for a price ranging between $100 and $2 some of these stores carry styles not sold in the regular locations and this will help you find something completely different.

This does not mean that there is anything wrong with these dresses or that they are out of fashion. Stores often sell off their inventory of wedding dresses at discount prices to make room for dresses of the upcoming season. When you order online, you do have to be aware of the shipping policy and the length of time it will take you to receive the dress. They range from dresses that have been discontinued by specific designers which assure you of a unique dress for your special day. Some of these discount dresses may have been special orders that were cancelled for one reason or another and now the store is stuck with them.

Your mother may still have her wedding dress and with a few alterations you can make it your own. The Internet is the best place to start shopping for Discounted Wedding Dress prices. There are many consignment boutiques in larger centres where you will find the wedding dress of your dreams at a low price that you may find hard to believe. It will take your time and energy to search the bridal salons for cheaper wedding dresses but this does not mean you have to compromise on the quality of the material in the dress. One of the ways you can save money on this essential purchase is to shop for discount wedding dresses.

The shipping costs can add to the price of the dress. If you know a good seamstress, you can have your wedding dress (http://www.sourcinggate.com/aline-strapless-sweetheart-neckline-floor-length-evening-dress-p-7253.html)made for you at a lower cost as well. Another option in getting a wedding dress very cheaply is to look for a vintage wedding dress from an earlier time.

Choosing a Wedding Dress for Your Body Shape

June 18, 2010

Like any bride-to-be, it’s easy to fall in the trap of having to find the perfect dress for your wedding day. Does such a thing exist? Yes, but it’s wise to remember that you’ll go through piles and piles of dresses to find the right one. The pressure of choosing a wedding dress is a common scenario that plays out in many bridal stores, and you’re not alone. As with any article of clothing, however, choosing the appropriate dress for your body shape is important. And if that dress is your wedding gown(http://www.sourcinggate.com/graceful-ball-gown-halter-neckline-floor-length-evening-dress-p-7255.html), there’s added incentive to find the right one.

Few dresses are ideal for everyone – and there are obviously assets you would like to emphasize and others you’d prefer to downplay. Usually, the sales associate at most bridal boutiques or stores will be able to offer an accurate analysis of the dresses you’ve selected, though you can also have your gown altered to make sure it ‘hugs’ you in the right places. While no body is alike, the following guidelines on choosing a wedding dress are designed to help you stick to the right style when browsing through the racks, online, or even having a dress specially made.

The Right Dress for Your Wedding Day

If you’re like most women, you’ve been dreaming about your wedding day since you were a little girl, imagining a beautiful, fluffy white ball gown. Choosing your wedding dress may not be so simple. Today’s bride has a plethora of gown options available to her, including A-line, sheath, mermaid, empire, and ball gown silhouettes. Though fitting sessions are the only way to tell what works best for you, the following body shape tips are meant to help you sort through the pile.

Hourglass: This shape is, by far and large, considered the ideal of feminine beauty. Ball gowns are perfect for those with smaller waistlines, while form-fitting gowns work just as well and cleverly show off your curves. Choosing a wedding dress like a dropped waist wedding gown, an updated look from the 1920s that’s becoming very popular, works well for those with longer torsos and some height to them. Hourglass-shaped women are usually on the bustier side, so you’ll want to avoid the harsh straight lines of some strapless gowns(http://www.sourcinggate.com/ball-gown-strapless-floorlength-satin-evening-dress-p-7254.html); instead, opt for sweetheart necklines or something with a little twist.

Rectangular: Finding a dress for your wedding day is all about knowing your body shape. The idea here is to look for gowns that create curves even if you don’t have them. Elegant sheath dresses cut on the bias or bust-enhancing necklines create curves where none exist. A cinched waist dress on your wedding day, one with slightly puffier skirts, will similarly capitalize on your small waist and create volume.

Slim: A mermaid or trumpet dress for your wedding day is perfect for the slimmer bride with smaller hips, though this style can favor anyone on the slender side. A dress with a ruched bodice will create the appearance of a larger bust line, and, again, add curves where needed. Modified A-line gowns with slightly higher waist lines will make you appear taller as well.

Oval: Oval-shaped and plus-sized brides benefit from the classic lines of empire dresses; whether simple or jazzed up with some embellishments, this dress (a wedding day classic) hides numerous figure flaws and enhances the bust line. When choosing a wedding dress in the empire style, remember that it should be somewhat fitted, since a gown that’s too loose can become billowy.

Show Off Your Wedding Day Style

As a last note, an A-line dress on your wedding day is more often than not universally flattering. Tall brides should keep the lines, detailing, and fabric simple, though smaller brides can pull off fabrics with high sheen; however, they, too, should avoid decked-out gowns, opting instead for nice touches at the neckline or the bust line to draw the eye up. Choosing a wedding dress in this style hides a lot of flaws, but still offers that big skirt appeal from your girlhood days in a stylish way. Sheath gowns, too, offer the same benefits as A-line gowns, meaning they camouflage many of the flaws you’re looking to hide. In this case, however, differentiating between constructed (more curvy brides) and loose sheaths (slender brides) makes the difference when choosing a wedding dress.

Also, consider trying out this handy dream wedding gown creator that walks you through your unique body type and which styles would suit your shape best. It’s easy to use and provides some tips that will pay off during your shopping trips!

How to Choose a Maternity Wedding Dress

June 9, 2010

Just because you are going to be pregnant and showing on your wedding day doesn’t mean you have to buy a maternity wedding dress(http://www.sourcinggate.com/alluring-aline-strapless-neckline-floorlength-evening-dress-p-7260.html) from a limited selection maternity web site. I was seven months pregnant when I got married and I did not wear a “maternity” wedding gown. I actually wore a beautiful dress from Davids Bridal. With all the different cuts, shapes and styles of dresses to choose from, your bound to find the dress of your dreams!

Step 1

Look through catalogs, magazines and websites to get ideas of the types of wedding dresses you like. Do you like light and flowy? Lacey? Empire? A-Line? Structured? Strapless? Halter? Start looking. When you see something you love, then cut/print it out and glue it in a wedding notebook.

Step 2

Now looking at your notebook, you should have a good idea of what style of wedding dresses(http://www.sourcinggate.com/flowery-ball-gown-halter-lowcut-floor-length-evening-dress-p-7261.html) you want to look for. When you go into a large dress shop, such as Davids Bridal or Dimetrios, it can be overwhelming with choices, so it really helps to already have an idea of what to look for.

Step 3

Select all the dresses you like and start trying on.

Step 4

Once you have narrowed it down to a few favorites, ask to try the same dress on in 1 or 2 sizes up. Then stuff the small pillow in place where your belly will be. Depending on how far along in your pregnancy you will be you can estimate how big you think you will be. If you are only 1-2 months pregnant and the wedding is in another 1-2 months, you don’t really need to go up in size too much if it’s your first pregnancy. You would barely be showing at that point. However, if you are like me and will be further along, make sure there is room to grow. You can put different things in the dress as a faux tummy to vary the size from a sweater to a pillow. Have a friend take digital pics of you in the different dresses.

Step 5

Now that you’ve tried on the larger sizes with your faux baby belly, determine which styles flatter a pregnant shape and decide on a dress. I choose a strapless lace A-line dress with a long train. I added a red sash with a pendant to create an empire waist, it really made the dress and made my pregnant belly look cute.

Step 6

Unless you fall in love with THE DRESS that day, go home and look at your digital pictures. Go back to the store and try them on again with another friend or relative. Once you know which dress you want, if it is from a big bridal store like David’s Bridal, then you can ask if they will still be carrying a lot of that style on the floor by the time of your wedding. That way you can wait and then try on and figure out the correct size right before the wedding. In my case, I just guessed and got my dress 2 sizes up.

Step 7

Reproduction in whole or in part is strictly prohibited.

Wait as long as possible for your dress fitting as you will be constantly growing. At my fitting 2 weeks before my wedding, they suggested taking in the dress a little bit but I said “no”. For my final fitting, the dress fit almost perfect, and the day of the wedding, it fit PERFECT. I mean, if I would have got married a week later, it might have been a REALLY tight squeeze.

How to Pick Bridesmaid Dresses for a Winter Wedding

June 9, 2010

Although many weddings are in the spring, winter is also a beautiful time of year to have a wedding. The colors are clean, the weather crisp and in many places, ice and snow provide stunning vistas. Of course, if you’re having a winter wedding, you’ll probably want a wedding that reflects the season. You might think that picking out the dresses for your bridesmaids will be a bit tricky, but if you keep several things in mind, the choice won’t be as difficult as you think.

  1. Step 1

Keep the winter weather in mind. A winter wedding is not the time for those sleeveless or strapless dresses(http://www.sourcinggate.com/graceful-aline-strapless-sweetheart-floor-length-evening-dress-p-7264.html). Although they are beautiful, you don’t want your bridesmaids to freeze during the wedding. Make sure that the dresses you choose are suitable for the winter weather in the area where you are getting married. Longer sleeves and heavier fabrics are great ideas for a winter wedding.

  1. Step 2

Choose dresses with a winter color scheme. Although the first colors you may think of are various shades of red and green, there are many other great winter colors to choose from as well. Pale blue and silver are wonderful winter colors, as are deep purple, navy and gold.

  1. Step 3

Make sure the winter bridesmaid dresses(http://www.sourcinggate.com/ravishing-aline-strapless-floorlength-satin-evening-dress-p-7265.html) complement your wedding gown. You want to be certain that your bridesmaids look great, but the winter bridesmaid dresses are supposed to only accessorize your wedding gown, not be the main focus of the wedding. This is your big day. And while everyone should look lovely, it is you who should be the center of attention. When you’re shopping for the bridesmaid dresses, consider taking along a picture of your wedding dress so you can find options that harmonize with what you’ll be wearing.

  1. Step 4

Add a wrap to the ensemble. It’s going to be chilly and you’ll probably be spending some time outdoors, so a nice wrap is a great idea. Not only will it provide some warmth, but there are many stylish options available.

  1. Step 5

Remember that darker colors are more becoming for everyone. While you do have several gorgeous colors to choose from, you’ll want your winter bridesmaids dresses to flatter your friends. Light colors may look beautiful on the rack, but keep in mind that most people look great in darker colors since they are slimming and enhance most body shapes and sizes.

How to Wear Black To a Wedding

June 9, 2010

At one time, wearing black to a wedding was as taboo as wearing the same color as the bride. It’s not so any more. Now, wearing black is deemed fashionable, classic, and perfectly acceptable. You may still get a dirty look from some that are not in the know, but that will be rare. Have courage, and proceed.

Step 1

Ask the bride for her opinion. This is important if you’re unsure about how the bride will feel if you show up in black. If you think she will mind, ask. If she doesn’t feel that it’s appropriate, find something else to wear: no matter how appropriate you think it is.

Step 2

Wear black accessories with colorful outfits. Choose a black accessory to go with whatever you’re wearing. This could include a scarf, a tie, a necklace or a belt. This is appropriate no matter how you feel about wearing black to a wedding and it is also a nice accent.

Step 3

Try on colored accessories with a black dress. If you wear a black dress, consider one with polka dots or stripes if you’re uncomfortable with all black. You can also wear a colorful scarf around either your neck or your waist. This adds in a bit of color, breaks up the black and is incredibly fashionable. You can also wear different-colored shoes to break up the black.

Step 4

Make sure that you are wearing jewelry that is complimentary to the black.

Step 5

Ask for the opinions of friends and family on the particular black outfit that you want to wear to a wedding. If it elicits enough objections, you might want to find a different black outfit. Black can definitely work for a wedding, but you have to know how to work it well!
